An old Black southern classic. Quick fact, Butter pecan Ice-cream was originally created because black people weren't allowed to have vanilla ice-cream, it was seen as too pure for black people to enjoy. The fact that people took their racism to that extent and that there are still people who think like that bother me. Anyway this ain’t about them pathetic excuses for living creatures, this is about black joy and pride. These cookies are based off some cakes I made for my late grandfather. His favorite ice-crem flavor was butter pecan and I wanted to pay homage to him and the impact he had on my and my family’s lives. These cookies have a maple butter base and are filled with toasted pecans. The texture is absolutely phenomenal, the cookies being soft as all can be and the pecans, while having a bite, don't clash with the softness of the cookie. These cookies are beloved by anyone who has tried them and are sure to be one of your new favorites.
